Blue-Gold Final Notes

Hey Friends-

Since sending this a few days ago, I have been subsequently reminded:

  • Two Dillon Hall progeny are walk-on athletes and played prominent roles in the B-G game. Young Joe Romano made a couple of tackles and is Rocky’s son and Danny’s nephew. And Nick Lezynski made the final play of the game with an interception and he is of course, the son of Greg “The Bull”.
  • Walk-on kicker David Ruffer will return for his 5th year in the fall and he was rewarded with a scholarship. This is reported by my niece Megan Miller a Senior at SMC who went to a couple of dances with Ruffer and also confirmed by other sources (the scholarship…not the dance part). All sources agree that he is a fine young man.
  • Speaking of nieces, Julie Scheidler and her teammates received their Soccer National Championship rings at their banquet on Sunday. The seniors also received keepsake framed jerseys. Interesting to me, rings were awarded to many people associated with the team’s success in different ways from Fr. John Jenkins and Jack Swarbrick through the stadium groundskeeper.

GO IRISH!

See you on September 3

And don’t forget to fill-out your football ticket applications on time!
