And his hair was perfect (ND/USC 10/15/09)

Gents-

Armando says to say hello to all.

Several items from the ND “Stylist to the Stars”:

1.      Ara stepped out early 2 weeks ago to retrieve his USA Today and tripped forward and falling badly to cut his head. He told Armando that he was bleeding all over and luckily the newspaper carrier saw him down and called 911. Ara is fine now. He is due for a haircut next week and I will probably stop back by to wish him well.
2.      CW actually dropped in earlier this morning and dropped off a Field Pass for Armando. He only had one to give because he said there are so many former players and recruits coming in for the game. Armando reminded me that in 2005 (the “Bush Push”), H.S. senior recruit Jimmy Clausen was on the ND sidelines.  Armando was surprised that CW would make that personal effort to hand-deliver.
3.      More CW…when Armando was cutting the Big Man’s hair last week, he stated to Armando, “Why are people so critical when they don’t even know me? I am a good person. If they have something to say, they should come to my office and tell me directly.”  Following the game Saturday, I will decide if I will go over to CW’s office, or not.
4.      Armando had dinner and drinks last week at Parisi’s with some ND grads + Digger and Dick Vitale. He said with the Digger/Dick combo, no one else could get a word in edgewise. Don’t you hate that?

Armando invited me for coffee Monday morning at the shop when there is a standing “Monday Morning Quarterback” group.

No word yet on Football Luncheon or Pep Rally speakers. Won’t be Lou, though.

Weather forecast for Saturday is improved with some sun and 53 degrees with rain (hopefully) moving out Friday night.

As a side note, UCLA legend Coach John Wooden celebrated his 99th birthday yesterday. Numerous pictures of Digger, Shumate, Brokaw and Dantley on Armando’s walls.

It is only Thursday. Better scoop to follow, hopefully. But remember, I can only work with what is presented to me. You can’t be legit and try to make things up. Keepin’ it real…

Abe
