It was a beautiful Saturday for tailgating among classmates, other friends and family. Tony Rice was there early as usual for his fresh fruit. He posed for pictures and signed a few autographs. It’s all happening at Martin’s Supermarket… Approximately 20 tanned, tall and muscular co-eds hovered around the salad bar this afternoon adhering to their training table. This was the perennial strong Santa Clara Women’s Soccer team. I introduced myself to several, wished them luck for Friday night and informed them that my niece Julie Scheidler was a starter on the ND team. And while small…she was very fast and tough….
